5th Annual Oilmen’s Golf Tournament

The 5th Annual Oilmen’s Golf Tournament was pulled of the pile October 15th 2005, in Teresópolis Golf Club (TGC) in Teresópolis Brazil. MOGA (Macaé Oilmen’s Golf Association) was responsible for the tournament, organized as a Texas scramble.

With a field consisting of 103 players, one may just imagine the organization challenge on a 9-hole course. But with a tremendous effort spent from both the MOGA organizing committee and the TGC staff everything went as smooth as can be expected. Food and drinks were served in-between birdies and eagles throughout the course, with a BBQ on the 8/17^th tee, connected to the club’s social facilities.

Numerous families, sponsors and friends used the opportunity to spend the day at the great social facilities of TGC during the play, where a full BBQ was set up and maintained throughout the day.

As TGC consists of fast greens and a sneaky river that must be crossed about 8 times a round, the winning team of Joao, Ricardo, Gary & Ron, putted out with a decent score posted at 4 under par, tightly followed by second team of Cristobal, Genete, David & Maria, also 4 under par (winner determined by better back-nine). Third place was occupied by Ricky, Ian, Robert & Fernando, with 3 under par.

And in accordance with our oilfield tradition, a Golden Dopebrush was awarded to the team having the most fun during the play, Jones, Dave, Mario & Charlie with 8 over par.

The day was ended with a great banquet at TGC with players, families, friends and sponsors, with award ceremonies, raffle with numerous drivers, clubs, bags and other neat prizes, along with the charity auction which together with the on-course chipping contest raised R$ 3.000,00 for the charity organization MOGA has decided to support, APAE, which in Portuguese stands for “Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Exepcionais”.
