Hotel do Frade & Golf Resort is located just south of Angra dos Reis, about 2 hours by car from Rio de Janeiro. The resort is just on the edge of “Mata Atlantica ”, (the Atlantic Rainforest), with its own beach and marina. With white sand and incredible clear waters it is never difficult to find a nice place to relax after a 18 holes game of golf.

Due to its location by the Mata Atlantica the golfcourse is year-round green, where many of the holes gives you that genuine “jungle-feeling” when you walk them. It is therefore not uncommon to meet wildlife on the course. Humid climate, and your umbrella should never be left home when walking this interesting course, as a short summer shower could easily jump on you.

The course has lately undergone a substantial upgrade, in fact this is still going on, making this course a very enjoyable 18 holes golfjourney. All fairways are receiving bermuda grass, and greens are being replaced. Tons of doglegs, a few almost 90 degrees, and many holes demands an accurate iron tee shot with a controlled distance rather than a driver.
